Service-Mesh Implementation

Customer challenge

Customer is developing a multi-cloud offering solution. This will enable customer’s customers to have highly available versions of their stack running in different clouds. The stack must have all components running in all cloud environments. Ideally the customer would like to be able to both load balance between the clouds and cut over to one or the other completely at any time. The customer would like to create a service mesh between the different clouds and to enable data replication where appropriate.

How we helped

We helped the customer to set up their Service Mesh on their Kubernetes clusters and assisted in deploying their sample application in implementing their multi-cloud solution. We provided working sessions on implementation of the followings in customer’s sandbox environment while scripts were provided in advanced –

Deployment of Kubernetes Cluster on GKE and AWS
Configuration of the ingress gateways
Deployment of Nginx and online boutique applications
Workshops for providing recommendations on the followings
Observability
Service Mesh
Managed Control Plane vs In-Cluster Control Plane
Managed Certificate Authority Options
In-Cluster Control Plane
Helped to leverage Service Mesh features to create ingress
Traffic Management capabilities
Traffic Management capabilities
Security
Authorization Policies
mTLS
Result

The result very well met customer’s needs in exploring their multi-cloud solution via Service Mesh and increased their adoption on Multi-Cloud by enabling failover between GCP and AWS.
